Project Silk is an innovative program directed towards black and latino young men who have sex with men (YMSM) and young transgender individuals (YTG) 13-29 years old, and their varied sexual partners, in the Pittsburgh Metropolitan Statistical Area. The project consists of:
1. Providing a safe space for young men and transgender women
2. Linking people to:
- Medical care
- Housing and shelter
- Mental health and substance use counseling
- Educational assistance
- Job readiness assistance
- Dental care
- Hormone treatment
- Legal services
- Leadership training
3. Providing space for artistic expression
4. Support for young men and transgender women of color in the pursuit of their authentic selves
